20. Promedol is an anti-shock drug, related to the class of narcotic analgesics. It is generally applied to the inner muscles of wounded individuals. Each soldier is given a medical kit with a one-dose syringe of Promedol. In theory, after all operations, the unused doses should have been returned. But, naturally, in the given situation, it was difficult to keep track of where and by whom the medicine was used. Many witnesses testified to the wide abuse of Promedol by Russian troops in Chechnya to obtain a slight narcotic intoxication.
